I've gotta give them 5 stars for their super carne asada burrito (no sour cream). I'm a big fan, and I think this is the most underrated taqueria on Haight. After getting my Haight St burritos exclusively from Street Taco for 3 years, I now mix it up between the two but this place has become my new go-to. They deserve more than 3.5 stars in my opinion.

I think I found the worst place for Mexican food in the city & I'm hella bummed to say that because, well I love Mexican food... it's the food of my people.
My friend & I were here for a QUICK bite to go (which they did get our orders out quickly so I gave them an additional star for that) & that the lady at the counter was friendly enough although I wish my Spanish was better because when I bit into my food after we got it (thinking holy score it was cheap with a happy hour at the time & both me and my friend LOVE Mexican food) and... well it was inedible. Both of us had the same reaction to it when we sat down to eat.
Not only was my order completely wrong (I ordered it without onions because I'm allergic) but it just was horrible. I feel dreadful saying that but, well it just was. I basically live by burritos & I can't tell you enough how devastated it makes me feel writing this knowing that hardworking folks are going to be penalized for this review but it just was not good at all.
No bueno.
Muy Mal.

We stopped in for a quick beer and decided to order a few tamales to take home and to our surprise, they were absolutely amazing! They came wet and it was a first with my tamale adventure but my oh my ... almost perfect! Just needed a dollop if sour cream!

Let me tell you that I am not a huge fan of Mexican cuisine but this place made me fall in love with the Mexican food. I was in San Francisco for my annual conference and this restaurant was very close to the place I lived in. This was my last day here so I wanted to try Cal-Mex because Tex-Mex is almost everywhere in the DC area.
So as usual I enter and check out their menu to see if they have something out of the ordinary. I immediately notice their California Burrito . It comes with your choice of meat, crispy fries, guacamole and cheese. Then I checked their price and it was very nominal compared to other restaurants in San Francisco. So one would imagine a small portion for a relatively low price but don't go by their pricing as their portions are huge. I am not exaggerating when I say it's huge, it really is.
I bite into this huge burrito and I immediately experience Nirvana ;well I might be a little over doing here , but trust me it was so delicious that I ordered another and took it back on my flight. I could eat only half of it and I ate the rest on my way to the Airport. I am so glad I packed one for my trip as we found out on the plane that they did not have dinner service. I felt a little guilty though that I have this amazing burrito and most of the others had to stick with snack boxes. I definitely recommend this place. -

Food cooked to order. Their carne asada tacos have a decent amount of meat ... you get your money's worth. Good crispy flautas. Prices are reasonable and the staff is polite and friendly
